The Big Bear Trail Riders is a dual-sport motorcycle club based near Big Bear Lake, in the heart of Southern California's San Bernardino National Forest. We've been exploring the dirt roads and single-track trails of the surrounding areas since the 1980s. Besides having some of the best mountain off-road riding in the region, we are only a few miles from the Mojave Desert, giving us fabulous year-round riding opportunities.
Our meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month. They are open to the public, and are usually followed by a group ride. In addition to our special club rides, we host several AMA sanctioned dual-sport events each year. Our infamous Big Bear Run held every summer offers one of the most challenging A-loops to be found anywhere, while our Moonlight Madness night ride will be enjoyed by dual-sport riders who appreciate a very different kind of off-road experience.
The Big Bear Trail Riders Motorcycle Club is a non-profit corporation affiliated with AMA District-37 Dual-Sport. Membership is open to anyone interested in recreational trail-riding or participating in organized dual-sport events, and we welcome riders of all ability levels. There are many benefits to membership, including special rides for members only, discounts from participating vendors, an e-mailed newsletter and a really great group of people who will go riding with you and show you the best trails. By becoming a member, you will add your strength to an organization that has been working hard to keep our forest and desert roads and trails open for motorcycling.
CLUB MEETINGS AND EVENTS
All dual-sport riders are invited to attend our meetings and participate in our trail rides. Please check our Meetings and Events calendar for up-to-date information.
We typically get together for breakfast at 9:00 AM on the second Saturday of each month at Nottingham's Restaurant, located at 40797 Lakeview Drive in Big Bear Lake, right on the corner of Lakeview and Bartlett near the Big Bear Village. The meeting begins around 9:30. Weather permitting, there is a group ride after the meeting, so bring your bike.
Mountain weather can change quickly, with wide temperature variations from day to day, especially during the winter months. Please check our local road and weather conditions before heading up the mountain, and come prepared.

DUAL-SPORT POLITICAL ACTION
We need your ongoing support regarding the proposed westward expansion of the 29 Palms Marine Corps Base, which would close BLM lands in Johnson Valley to any OHV recreation or public access. We need to join together in protecting our access to the largest OHV desert recreation area in the nation. Losing Johnson Valley would be a devastating blow to the off-road community. Please use this OHV Action Letter.
Join the campaign to make dual-sport conversions legal on California's roads and highways again. Sign petitions and participate in a letter-writing campaign to convince the Governator to reverse the DMV's ban on making green-sticker dirt bikes street-legal. Please send a Letter to the Governor.
RIDING AND CAMPING

The Discovery Center is able to provide trail maps, information regarding current OHV use in the National Forest, campground information and off-road riding recommendations. Please be aware that some of the volunteer staff may have an anti-OHV agenda. We cannot answer individual questions about OHV riding in Big Bear.
